We’re a featured video on Project for Awesome! It’s an annual event of YouTube communities that join together to support various charities. We have to thank Nathan Talbott for using his video to spotlight the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Vote for Nathan’s video at the Project for Awesome website for a chance for the Foundation to win a portion of the money donated by generous people like you.

A couple of weeks ago I tagged along with a film and photography crew who were working on our new public service announcement and poster series.
The new campaign will focus on successful adoptive families, and will work hand-in-hand with our current campaign, I Am. This positive, family-focused messaging is not only a natural progression from the images we currently feature in our products, but it’s something that many of you have been asking for.
Trying to find families to feature in these new materials was no easy task. Not because there is a lack of successful adoptive stories, but because there are so many amazing ones from which to choose. I was so completely humbled to witness these intimate moments – some funny, some heartbreaking – that I was moved to tears many times.
We hope to have new materials available in January, but for now, here’s a sneak peek:
Our “I Am” PSA is the featured cause video on Daily DoGooder today. They do great things to raise awareness of many worthy causes and we’re honored to be among them.
Our favorite part (aside from being featured, of course) was the summary they provided with the video.
Short and sweet, Dave Thomas Foundation’s “I Am” refutes the dismissive claim that foster care children - a population of approximately 400,000 - are too burdensome or unlovable for adoption. The black and white photography give this short a classy, mature look, guiding our response to the issue away from the difficulty of children’s past and towards the possibility of new futures. November is National Adoption Awareness Month.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is an official partner for the first-ever national day of giving, Giving Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Nov. 27, the collective power of charities, families, businesses and individuals will transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Giving Tuesday will create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday are synonymous with holiday shopping.
Our goal, and the goal of many others, is to push Giving Tuesday to the forefront of the holiday season in November, rather than making it an afterthought in December or the New Year.
Please join us Nov. 27 to help make this the biggest season of giving yet. By giving to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption this year we can help make the lives of children in foster care so much better by giving them the greatest gift of all — a family to call their own, forever.
Every child is adoptable.
Today, we released our annual list of the best adoption-friendly workplaces in the United States. Find out who made the list and who ended up No. 1 here: http://www.davethomasfoundation.org/what-we-do/adoption-friendly-workplace/2012-best-adoption-friendly-workplaces/
These children aren’t someone else’s responsibility. They are our responsibility.
This video, released to highlight the positive findings of the Foundation’s five-year research evaluation of its Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program, shows that the program works. And unadoptable is unacceptable.
